We are pleased to announce the start of membership intake for AMSAT Canada (AMSAT-CA), formed on November 12, 2023 as the 28th affiliate of the global Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation.
Since 1969, AMSAT has brought together space enthusiasts and radio operators worldwide. AMSAT Canada joins this global community with a dedicated mission: to promote, develop, and support Canadian Amateur radio in space.
Canada has a rich history of innovation in space and radio science, and AMSAT-Canada stands ready to contribute to that legacy. Our mandate is to support all aspects of Amateur radio in space—including artificial satellites, natural satellite communications, experimental technology, and STEM education—reflecting a long tradition of experimentation, open science, and international collaboration.
We invite all Amateur radio operators, space enthusiasts, educators, and makers to join us. Together, we can build a vibrant and enduring Canadian presence in space, one that inspires new generations, advances open science, and upholds the spirit of exploration.
