AREDN

I believe I contacted IRG about a year or so ago asking if you have any AREDN nodes in my area? VE9RCV is my local repeater, My Grid is FN57ti.

I love the concept of IRG, and to me it would just seem obvious that every IRG repeater should also be an AREDN node.

Please advise.

Hello!  IRG does not operate any AREDN nodes at its sites.  There may be private or club repeaters in your area that do support  modes other than FM voice, but I don't have that information.  The club or members in Edmundston may be able to help out.

Hi,

There has been talk before COVID to install an AREDN node at some irg repeaters sites and authorization to do so was requested to my knowledge. However due to covid the local CARG group from Moncton has let that project down.  I was the one who was supposed to program them and the idea was to link Richibucto and Moncton going forward down to Nova-Scotia.  However IRG sites are not easily accessible and we can't climb these towers as they are government sites.

There are already RF links in-between the irg sites however they aren't accessible for us to connect to.
