Summer 2020 review and Fall outlook NB

Submitted by admin on Wed, 2020/09/02 - 11:50

Summer (June, July, August) 2020 in New Brunswick was warmer (+1.0°C) and much drier (56%) than the 30-year climate normal (1981-2010).

Moncton and St. Stephen both saw a record number of >30C days through to August 31st.

Although rare, >30C days can also occur in September, therefore, we will need to wait out the fall season to see if any more occur.

Please see attached for the detailed Summer 2020 report and an outlook for Fall 2020, from Jill Maepea. Warning Preparedness Meteorologist / Client Service Operations Atlantic, Environment and Climate Change Canada / Government of Canada
