A few more repeaters have been fully CTCSS-enabled (PL tones). Added January 11 were:
- Pleasant Ridge VE9BI 146.700 (-)
- St. George VE9STG 147.225 (+)
- Cottage Hill VE9STJ 146.820 (-)
- (NOTE PL TONE FOR VE9STJ IS NOW BACK TO 151.4 Hz!!)
- Scotch Mountain VE9SMT 146.610 (-)
- Grove Hill VE9STM fully tone enabled on January 19.
- Only Miramichi VE9MIR and Doaktown VE1XI remain not fully toned.
Most IRG VHF repeaters now require a CTCSS of 151.4 Hz to operate, and UHF repeaters use 141.3 Hz.
Also we are pleased to report that Scotch Mountain VE9SMT repeater transmit power issue has been repaired and it is now back to full strength. Thanks to the folks at NB-DTI Radio Communications Branch for all their help!
Just a reminder, it’s a good idea to program all your radios now for the PL tones, as even those not yet updated will still work just fine even if you do transmit the subaudible tones. If you are responsible for a club or served agency radio (local EMO, hospital etc) check to make sure those radios have been updated also.
For a complete updated list of all repeaters and their CTCSS status, view the current list at this page: https://ve9irg.net/revamp/ctcss_chart . Also note that still to come is the reconfiguration of the zones along with updated linking hardware. Once all this is done, a new repeater directory will be produced.
