Surprise EMO Exercise Net Held

An impromptu EMO Exercise Net was hold at 5:00 pm on Thursday, February 4, 2021, the one-year anniversary of the EMO declaring a state of emergency as a result of the Covd-19 pandemic.

Dennis VE9AAE reported 45 participants checking in on VHF and Al VE1RG reported 12 checking in on 3.730 on 80 m.  During the net, an e-mail was sent to all those on the IRG contact list to alert them of the ongoing net.

Atlantic bubble travel

Effective Friday, July 3, residents of the Atlantic provinces (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador) can travel within the four provinces without the requirement to self-isolate for 14 days.  Here are more details on travel information from the GNB website:  English  Français

 

 

State of emergency declared in response to COVID-19

FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government today declared a state of emergency under section 12 of the Emergency Measures Act to enhance measures to help contain the spread of COVID-19 (the novel coronavirus). “The health and well-being of every New Brunswicker must remain our number one priority,” said Premier Blaine Higgs. “With the support of the of the chief medical officer of health, and with the support of the all-party cabinet committee, we are taking this extraordinary measure to provided greater assistance to the health-care sector fighting the spread of COVID-19 in the province.”
