The VE9SID repeater in St-Isidore / Tracadie area (146.700) and VE9VDR Seven Mile Ridge / Campbellton (147.390) were both upgraded on August 14 to be fully CTCSS enabled on both TX and RX. You will need to enable CTCSS (PL tone) of 151.4 Hz to operate those repeaters when transmitting. Setting the CTCSS on the receive of your radio at your end is optional, but can help eliminate stray signals on the same frequency as your local repeater.

Stanley and Grand Lake repeaters back to normal
Updated July 27: VE9NRV repeater (147.030) is back on-air, hardware has been replaced following a lightning strike at the site last week. The Stanley and Grand Lake repeaters are back in normal operation.
Campobello Island repeater on air
The VE9GMI (146.955 -) is now in operation on Campobello Island, with CTCSS set to 151.4 Hz. The Bunker Hill location replaces the former Grand Manan Island site, which was decomissioned. As of June 20, the repeater is "stand alone" but will be linkable in the near future, as part of the South West Zone.
Issues on Stanley Zone
There are a couple of quirks still to work out and users may notice:
- Occasional audio drop-outs from Stanley and Grand Lake repeaters
- Difficulty bringing "all links on" to full system from Stanley and Grand Lake repeaters
Upgrade to Sackville (VE9SKV) repeater
New repeater added to IRG system - Grand Lake VE9GLA
The new Grand Lake repeater has been added to the IRG linking system. VE9GLA has a frequency of 145.190 (minus offset). The repeater is located on Hardwood Ridge, and is now included in the Stanley Zone in the linking system. Users can use the regular codes to link to or from Stanley Zone for contact within Grand Lake area.
The repeater was installed in December 2019 and was operating with good coverage as a stand-alone repeater. With its hard-link to Stanley, VE9GLA adds a wider area coverage to central New Brunswick.
